Kuno Tempe is special because we actually treasure and respect the history and origin behind the process of creating tempe. It is naturally slow-fermenting tempe made just like how our great grandparents made it at home in Indonesia (yes, a lot of trial and error to make the tempe fungi happy in Sweden :D). Our ingredients also make our tempe a truly circular and sustainable food: made of local beans and edgy with upcycled ingredients that add to its unique flavors. Again, it is not really us, it really is amazing tempe fungi, our Indonesian heritage food knowledge, and a bit of creativity to uplift the story of this ancient sustainable food that is tempe. After all, tempe has been a staple accessible protein source to Indonesians since forever ago!
